The High Life: Training for unconventional excursions
Craig Weller has traveled the globe as a member of the U.S. Navy's special operations community. Now that he's a civilian, he's taken his experience and training and continues to push his physical and mental limits. 5-1/2 Questions with Jen Heath: Post-Season Training
My favorite physique coach Jen Heath is back to share some advice on how to transition from your race season to off-season.
What?
Did you think you could lay on the couch and eat Oreos until January 1?
Heath talked with us a while back about how to shed that unwanted body fat and add some more power (muscle) to your body. She is also a contributing author at Figure Athlete and the producer of the audio series, Fat Loss Pros (you can read my review here).

I'm kicking off a new series on healthy eating with a different twist. Rather than share healthy recipes from a few fit chefs, I'm going to share my adventures in going home-grown. Yes, I'm going to try and convert my bike-greased black thumb into a green thumb as I grow specific fruits and vegetables that should be a part of any performance athlete's daily diet.

Why I'm retiring from triathlon
Well, I'm actually semi-retiring. I have other commitments that need to take precedence over the time I am willing to commit to training, so I have to hang up my lycra for a couple of years to focus my energies on some other projects: work, pre-med studies, and opening up my friggin' tight hips.

Strength & Endurance

I recently interviewed Rachel Cosgrove on her role as a triathlete, coach, and powerlifter. Yes, you read that correctly. A couple of months back, Rachel set a national deadlifting record for her weight class...AND she's competing in the triathlon championships in Canada this month. While she might not be a household name (yet), someone who lives the multisport life to this extent is someone we need to get to know better!
